Meet Information
Dear Coach,
We hope that your Cross Country Season is off to a good start. I am writing to invite you and your team to this year's Jack Schommer Invitational Meet. The meet will be held on Saturday, October 18th at the Old City Park South Golf Course. We ask that you and your team park your vehicles in the Park away from the New Orleans Museum of Art.
We will still have seven levels of competition: Girls & Boys Elementary (grades 4, 5, 6, 7, & 8), Girls & Boys Junior High (grades 8 & 9), Girls & Boys Varsity (Top 12 runners ONLY), and an Open Division. The awards ceremony will take place at the conclusion of the Open race.
Time: 7:30 am Registration and packet pick-up
8:00 am Girls Elementary School (2.0 Miles)
8:30 am Boys Elementary School (2.0 Miles)
9:00 am Girls Junior High (2.0 Miles)
9:30 am Boys Junior High (2.0 Miles)
9:35 am Elementary Awards Presentation
10:00 am Girls Varsity (12 Runners) (3.0 Miles)
10:30 am Boys Varsity (12 Runners) (3.0 Miles)
11:00 am JV (anyone eligible High School runner) (2/3 Miles)
11:30 am Awards Presentation
Each school will be allowed to enter as many runners as they choose, in all races except the Varsity Divisions, where you may run no more than 12 runners. Only five runners will count for team honors. To compete for team honors you must have five runners finish the race. You may run less runners if you do not wish to compete for team honors. The Open Division will not be scored.
An entry fee of $35 per school is required to help defray the cost of the awards. A team championship trophy will be presented in the six levels of scored competition. The top 10 individual finishers will be awarded invitational medals.
