3rd Annual Earl Milner SFA High School Invitational

Saturday, March 3rd, 2018

Format:
Stephen F. Austin State University will be hosting a high school team competition on Saturday, March 3 rd ,
2018.
Meet Location:
Fletcher Garner Track is located in Homer Bryce Stadium on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University in
Nacogdoches, TX. The 8 lane track is a Tartan surface installed by APS. This synthetic surface meets all NFHS
and UIL Guidelines

Entries:
All entries must be submitted through DirectAthletics (www.DirectAthletics.com). Please see the Direct
Athletics Page attached to this e-mail.
All entries, changes, and updates are due/done/final by 12:00 PM, NOON, Tuesday, February 27th, via the
Direct Athletics website. SFA Track and Field is not responsible for your failure to submit completed
entries by the deadline.

Entry Fee:
Varsity: Each Girls and Boys Varsity teams - $150.00 per gender
Junior Varsity: Each Girls and Boys JV teams - $100.00 per gender
***Paid as part of packet pick-up located at the track shed next to the tunnel outside the stadium.
Packet Pick-up:
Coaches may pick up their packets beginning at 7:00 am, Saturday, March 3 rd . Packet Pick-up will be held at the
track shed, located just outside the tunnel from Homer Bryce Stadium. Payment may be made at that time.
Qualifying:
There will be no preliminary heats in the running events. If numbers dictate, heats
will be drawn by time and run slow to fast.
Field Events Varsity: 3 Preliminary Attempts Top 8 to Finals
Field Events Junior Varsity: 4 Jumps/Throws Total
Admission:
There will be four entry locations for spectators to enter the meet site: The southwest, southeast, and northwest
entries to Homer Bryce Stadium. Also, for field events held outside the stadium on the back throwing/high jump
field, entry can be made at the driveway just off the Hall 20 Parking lot. All spectators will be charged $5.00
per person for the meet. Coaches and athletes will have access throughout the stadium.
Heat Sheets Results:
Heat Sheets will be located in coaches packets, as well as posted on the SFA Athletic Website
(www.sfajacks.com). Results will be posted on the concourse level of the stadium above the pole vault pit on the
gray wall. Results will also be posted on our website following the meet.

Parking:

Parking will be available in the small lot next the athletic Fieldhouse on Hayter Street, and in the parking lot next to
the Ag Pond at the south end of the stadium, also on Hayter Street. Additionally, buses may drop off their teams
in the Hall 20 Lot near the throwing/high jump field. Buses may park across Lanana Creek in the commuter lot.
Access to the commuter lot is on University Drive.
Warm-ups:
No warm-ups will be allowed on the stadium turf. All warm-ups will take place behind the Athletic
Fieldhouse on the Football Practice Fields. Hurdles will be set up in these areas and team camps may be
set up here.
Athlete Check-in:
Running Event Athletes should check in with the Clerking Tent at least 15:00 prior to their event for their
Hip Numbers.
* The Clerking Tent is located under the tent at the north end zone of the Stadium.

Field Event Athletes should check in at least 45:00 prior to beginning of the event for all events but the
pole vault.
Pole Vaulters need to check in 60:00 prior to the beginning of competition.
Opening Heights: Opening heights in the pole vault and high jump will be determined by meet management
based upon entry marks.
Implement Weigh-Ins:
Weigh-ins should be completed at least one (1) hour prior to the beginning of competition.
Your athletes failure to check in their implements in this time frame will affect their ability to throw those
implements. Weigh-ins will take place in the Track Shed next to the tunnel outside the stadium.
Shower/Dressing Facilities:
There will be no shower or dressing facilities available. All teams and spectators may use the
bathroom facilities at the northeast and northwest corner of the stadium.
Team Camps:
All Team Camps can be set up on the backstretch side of the stadium in the stands. For easier access, you
may set up team camps on the Football Practice Fields, where warm-ups will take place. NO team camps
on the infield or under the tunnel.
Training Area:
A full training staff will be available under the tunnel at the northeast corner of
Homer Bryce Stadium. However, if not using the training areas, we ask that teams
keep the tunnel area clear. Additionally, if any emergencies occur, and EMT will be located inside the stadium.
Awards
Awards will be presented to the Event Champion in each event Relays will receive Plaques.
Team Champions and Runner-ups will be awarded in Varsity Competition. Awards will be presented to JV
Champions Only. The Awards table will be located on the home stretch on the 50 yard-line.
