BATON ROUGE -- Louisiana Tech head coach Gary Stanley called the day a “cliff-hanger.” It truly was a tight finish, but, unfortunately for the Bulldogs, it was two-points in LSU’s favor that gave Tech a close second-place finish at the 2008 LSU Cross Country Invitational at Highland Park in Baton Rouge, La.
BATON ROUGE – McNeese State freshman David Rooney had the best run for the university at the LSU cross country classic on Saturday, the rookie from Ireland finishing fourth in the 8K run with a 25:24.9 clocking.

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's cross country team came in second at the LSU Tiger Festival, led by top 10 finishes from Aubrey Phillips, Julia Whitrock and Rebecca Coady. The Green Wave men came in ninth, led by Kevin Lynch, Saturday at Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge.

FRISCO, Texas - Southeastern Louisiana University sophomore Henry Rop was named the Souhtland Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week after placing second and leading the Lions to a fourth place finish at the Azalea City Classic on Saturday the league office announced on Tuesday. Rop, who transferred to Southeastern from Union University, wins the award in his first cross country meet with the Lions.

Due to Hurricane Ike, Mississippi Valley State was the only other team to participate. SU's cross-country season has been decimated by the 2008 Hurricane season. All meets had been canceled up to this date.

The Green Wave women placed sixth of 36 teams, with Rebecca Coady leading Tulane in 15th place.
