Northshore Metro Championships: SPS/SSA Claim Titles

 

The St. Paul’s boys and St. Scholastica Academy girls captured the Varsity divisions,  while Trafton Academy won the Junior High girls division and the St. Paul’s boys captured the Junior boys division.

St. Paul’s Zachary Albright and Kraemer Jackson(Hammond) 1-2 finish led the Wolves to the team championship in Tuesday’s Northshore Metro Championships held on the St. Thomas Aquinas school grounds in Hammond.  St. Paul’s scored (29),  STA was second (76),  Ponchatoula third(89),  Mandeville fourth(92),  Northshore fifth(97),  Fontainebleau sixth(149),  Salmen seventh(238),  Slidell eighth(249),  Pope John Paul ninth(251) and Lakeshore tenth(278).  Albright posted a winning time of (15:09), while Jackson ran (15:28),  Sumner’s Leonel Moreno placed third(15:43),  Brett Olivier(Fonatinebleau) fourth(15:46),  Don Lipani(St. Paul’s) fifth(15:46),  Dylan Heck(Mandeville) sixth(15:57),  Ponchatoula’s Isiah Gilbert was seventh(16:02),  Tommy Brocato(STA) was eighth(16:08),  Craig Rock(STA) was ninth(16:12) and Alex Holden(Northshore) placed tenth(16:12).

On the Varsity girls side Mandeville’s Olivia Murphy edged-out STA’s Bobbi Amar for the individual win as Murphy ran (18:36.33)  and Amar ran(18:36.86).  Holden’s Clarissa Smith placed third(18:43),  Kylie Touchard(Mandeville) fourth(18:56),  Carley Boyce(SSA) fifth(19:06),  Destiny Williams(STA) was sixth,  Madison McDaniel(SSA) seventh(19:39),  Ponchatoula’s Jenna Reno placed eighth(19:48),  Claire Crosby(Mandeville) ninth(19:54)  and Rebecca Beatty(SSA) was tenth(20:03).    St. Scholastica Academy captured the team title with (42),  Mandeville was second (62),  STA third(64),  Jewel Sumner fourth(117),  Northshore fifth(118),  Ponchatoula sixth(158),  Fontainebleau seventh(175)  and Slidell eighth(189).  

The Trafton Academy girls put ten runners in the top twelve positions to capture the team title in the Junior High girls division with (19) ,  St. Joseph’s was second (59),  Jewel Sumner third(75),  St. Scholastica Academy fourth(112)  and Hannan fifth(131).  STA’s Chelsey Jones captured the individual win in (11:57),  while Trafton’s Meghan Becerra wa second(12:43),  Sara Lavastida third(12:50),  Emma Littell(TA) fourth(13:06),  Maggie Crawford(TA) fifth(13:21),  Abigail Bates sixth(13:50),  Olivia Rainey(TA) seventh(14:03),  Annie Walls(TA) eighth(14:05),  Breanna Becerra(TA) ninth(14:06)  and Madelyn Nicaud(TA) tenth(14:12).

The St. Paul’s boys also put ten runners in the top twelve positions to capture the JH boys team title with (19),  Jewel Sumner was second(53),  St. Peter third(74)  and Christ Episcopal fourth(98).  Trafton’s Eric Coston posted a really fast time of (10:05) to win the individual title over runner-up Chase McDougal(ST. Paul’s) at the second position(11:31).  Sumner’s Austin James was third(11:33),  Patrick Napier(St. Paul’s) fourth(11:33),  Collin Sullivan(St. Paul’s) fifth(11:38),  Tristan Sullivan(St. Paul’s) sixth(11:40),  Gregory Roy(St. Paul’s) seventh(11:43),  Cameron Gary(St. Paul’s) eighth(11:44),  Devin Bresette(St. Paul’s) ninth(11:44)  and Max Eagan(St. Paul’s) was tenth(11:53).
