In one of the most prestigious honors in the sport, Gatorade has announced their athletes of the year for track and field. The winners for Louisiana are:
Janie O'Connor- O'Conner is a household name in the sport right now, even on a national level as she is well traveled (including the Pre Classic this year). She is only a JR.
Raymond Calais- Calais is a lesser known athlete as he really didn't receive as much attention during the year. Calais didn't run indoor, but outdoor he finished with the top 200 time in the state and the second fastest 100 time.
