4) How will the moves in class affect the next two years? Several top program have changed their classes for the upcoming season including power programs such as McGehee moving down to 2A, Country Day moving up to 2A, and John Curtis moving up to 5A. It will be worth watching to see what these moves bring to the landscape of the state championships this year.
3) Can Jesuit hold off the competitors to repeat as champions? It was a narrow victory last year, and SPS, Brother Martin, Catholic High, John Curtis, Parkway, and a couple others all want a piece of the pie as well.
2) How will the Mandeville vs SJA rivalry finish this year? SJA is the defending champion, but Mandeville is looking national class this year. Will it be enough to hold off the Redstickers?
1) Speaking of national class, this year may be the best year for LA to have an athlete qualify for a national xc meet since the 90s. Gabrielle Jennings, Eric Coston, and Devyn Keith have all proven their worth against national fields. Now that two are seniors and a third is finally an upperclassman, is this the year we see a LA runner in Portland or San Diego?
