LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – The Nicholls State University cross country team will take the road to face the Disney Cross Country Classic presented by New Balance on Saturday beginning at 6:30 a.m.
 
In their most recent competition, the Colonels had a strong showing at the Watson Brown Cross Country Meet, led by Tessni Carruthers. Carruthers had another outstanding performance, finishing 2nd in a field of 47 competitors with a time of 22:39.3 in the 6k. Ashley Johnson registered a time of 26:01.6, placing 18^th overall and Callie Scull came in 25^th with a time of 27:39.8.
 
Jake Lee led the Nicholls men with a personal best 9^th place finish in the 8k with a time of 28:30.4. Lee averaged 5:44.0 minutes per mile in the event.
 
The Disney Cross Country Classic enters its 17^th year as thousands of runners from across the country compete at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort.
