Tangi XC Invitational Recap

The Trafton Academy girls Junior High team captured the team title in Thursdays 2014 Tangi Cross Country Invitational held at Hammond Eastside in Hammond with a perfect team score of (15), followed by the Hammond Eastside Magnet School team with (49).  The Lady Eagles put seven runners in the top fifteen positions to earn team honors.  Eighth grader Abigail Bates earned the individual win for the second week in a row with a winning one mile time of (5:59),  Madelyn Nicaud and Breanna Becerra finished in a dead heat for the second position in (6:06), while Taylor Cardaronella was fourth(6:31), Paula Harvey fifth(6:34), Presley Walls seventh(7:03) and Eryn Wilks was fifteenth(7:59).  SJS' Jayda Babin was sixth(6:40), Albany's Samantha Weedman ninth(7:12), HGS' Laken Neal tenth(7:19) and Hammond's Chalah Rock was twelfth(7:36). The Trafton JH boys captured the team title with(31), Albany Middle was second(53), St. Joseph third(82), Christ Episcopal fourth(90), St. Peter fifth(107) and Lake Castle sixth(110).  Victor Harvey was the JH winner by over twenty seconds with a winning time of(5:18) over Kehoe France's Harrison Elliot(5:38). Also joining Harvey were Kollin Poche sixth(5:51), Mason Thompson seventh(5:52), James Pesson tenth(5:54) and Konner Poche was eleventh(5:59) for the winning Eagles team. Albany's Logan Lucas was third(5:41), SJS' Collin Thibodeaux was eighth(5:53), HGS' Jacobi Theil was thirteenth(6:10), while Hammond's Ethan Turpin was 32nd(7:23) for the local finishers.
St. Peter captured the Middle School girls team trophy(27) over Hammond(29). Cedarwood fifth grader Svenya Stoyanoff was the individual champion in (6:44), followed by Trafton's Abbie Parrish at the second position(7:02) and Daniela Pool of Hammond was third(7:03). Also posting top finishes were Jada Clark(Trafton) fifth(7:25) and Skyy Jackson(HEMS) seventh(7:55). The St. Peter's boys edged-out the Lake Castle boys(48-51) to claim the Middle School boys team trophy, while CES was third(67), HGS fourth(68) and Albany Middle fifth(108). St. Peter's Justin Baham was the individual winner with a winning mile time of(5:53), the top local runner was HGS' Caleb Bates at the fifth position(6:21), HEMS' Victor Nguyen was fourteenth(6:50) and Albany's Jacob Puma was fifteenth(6:52).
 
St. Peter's won the Elementary girls team title(42), HGS was second(55), First Baptist was third(64), Holden fourth(83) and Hammond fifth(107). Alex Johnson(First Baptist) was the individual winner(6:58), while HGS's Sophia Pray(9th-7:49) and Isabella Mistretta (10th-7:58) cracked the to ten. Holden's Alyson Fletcher was eleventh(8:08), Trafton's Triston Cardaronella was thirteenth(8:12), HEMS' Mya Pines was 22nd(8:54) and SJS's Madison Christian(23rd-9:02).    The CES boys edged-out the Trafton boys (35-36) to win the Elementary boys race , while St. Peter was third(77), HGS fourth(90) and Hammond fifth(103). Trafton's Kollin Poche was the individual winner in (5:55), while brother Konner Poche was second(5:56).  Other top ten finishers were: Carson Thibodeaux(SJS) fourth(6:27), Conner Franks(SELRR) sixth(6:32), Aiden Franks(SELRR) seventh(6:34), Jace Caves(TA) ninth(6:46), Brody Doan(HGS) was tenth(6:50).
 
St. Peter won the the Sub-Elementary girls team trophy with(47), just over Holy Ghost(56), CES was third(63), Trafton fourth(76) and Holden fifth(93).  TA's Layla Williams was the individual winner(3:10), Holden's Hanna Fletcher was fourth(3:41), HGS' Bronwyn Doan was seventh(3:54) and Betsy Geisler was eighth(3:55) and Hammonds Victoria Lindsey was ninth(3:58). St. Peter won the Sub-Elementary boys team trophy with(32), Hammond was second(74), CES third(76), SJS fourth(88), HGS fifth(93) and Holden sixth(150). SELRR runners Conner Franks(3:09) and Aidan Franks(3:10) finished 1-2, while SJS's Ethan Laurent was third(3:22) and Hammonds Levi Johnson was seventh(3:31).
